GW Exploit site found...
And hopefully shut-down.
I was looking around the net for build suggestions for Monk/Rangers when I stumbled upon an underground forum which consisted of GW exploits, hacking development and tons of other things that broke the ToS and legal such things that GW has.
Here's the discussion I had with customer service

Nice Job scouting Veripare,
Its sad that some people have to take a good game like GW and try to destroy it (game play) with hacks, cheats, and other methods of destruction..

Well, I don't know exactly what was on that site, but I've seen similar sites. Generally they contain out-of-date information about exploits which no longer work; downloadable "hacks" and "help files" brimming with keyloggers; and tips on tactics and builds which are freely available from e.g. www.guildwarsguru.com. Oh, and tons of ads offering you to buy in-game currency for real-world currency.
I don't think ANet as a rule can do much about these sites, but if they can shut them down it's a gain to all concerned except the owner of the site...

The information was up-to-date. I had a newbie character test out an exploit, it worked and I deleted the character.

Its bound to happen, I remember when Blizzard was determined to prevent any exploits or hack websites for diablo2, half a year later websites with exploits and hacks for diablo2 was brimming all over the internet.

Guild wars ban you if they catch you heavily exploiting something so imo its not worth it. All the farming locations are known anyway.

I just put "guild wars exploits" in google and loads of sites came up. Most seemed to want to charge you money upfront in exchange for tellin you locations to go farm etc. Seemed like a pretty pathetic way to try to make money. I am sure that Anet is aware of these sites, but considering how bad the content is, I wonder if its worth their time.

It's using something in the game that wasn't intended to be that way it is, in a way that would tweak your character.
Examples of the Past: The reoccuring Ascension EXP. The Axe with 2 hafts. Etcetc.
These things unbalance the game, thus are against the rules to exploit if found.

Just because you see them online doesn't mean they haven't dealt with the issue. Many exploits aren't, they are simply someone spouting a load of bull in hopes someone will believe and look like a fool when they attempt something impossible. In other cases, exploits have been fixed in updates so having a character logged in doesn't mean much if the exploit itself has been closed.

I can't answer why your report wasn't acted upon. Or maybe it was, and the person had a timeout and came back. But saying we do nothing and that reports call on deaf ears is provably untrue, when I can look at the actioned accounts list on a daily basis and see that our CS Team is indeed handling matters.
Do we get them all? Nope. Do we try? Sure, but let's be realistic, it's not possible to get them all. However, we make an honest effort and we do take the appropriate action. The number of spam advertisers for sales sites has dropped considerably, have you noticed?
For those who have a little faith, please do report. It's through your reports that the game is made better.

You know the founders' background. We are all particularly sensitive to keeping game security high. We'll always make that a primary objective.

Jolly good, all I can say that I got two people either banned or suspended for trying to scam people in game. One was pretending to be an ATi Rep giving out free GW accounts, pretty obvious it was a scam when they needed to ask for your login details. The other one was a person advertising items as >50% but in fact selling <50% so I had him reported. Both are no longer online, haven't reported anyone for a while now so its always a good sign.
